     4Punjabi and Hindi director; started as scenarist and assistant to the major Punjabi cameraman- director Harcharan Singh Kwatra, scripting Pilpili Saheb (1954) and Teesmar Khan (1955). Kwatra produced Bakshi’s first film Kode Shah, scored by Sardul Kwatra. Like Kwatra, Bakshi was basically a Bombay director making inexpensive Hindi films, often with Hindi stars. Also wrote Amarnath’s Baradari (1955) in Hindi. Directorial début in 1953 with Punjabi films. Made three Hindi features in the late 50s (Mr Chakram, Pataal Pari and Sun To Le Hasina)
