     4Scenarist, dialogue writer and one of the 
     5most successful producers in 70s Malayalam 
     6cinema. Born in Kottarakkara, Kerala. Stage 
     7actor aged 8. Début in 1950 as film actor 
     8(Atmasakhi, 1950; Ponkathir, 1953; Avakashi, 
     91954). Dialogues for Ponkathir were 
     10followed with scripts for over 25 films, after 
     11which he débuted as producer with the Tamil 
     12film Parisu (1963), directed by Yoganand 
     13and starring MGR. Concentrated on 
     14producing films which he scripts himself, 
     15making c.50 films in three languages 
     16(Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil), mainly love 
     17stories and suspense dramas. Noted scripts 
     18include the Sivaji Ganesan hit Pasamalar 
     19(1961).
